The best polyurethane's to use on your hardwood floors are water based commercial polyurethanes such as Bona, Loba, or Street Shoe. These finishes go on after the wood floors have been sanded. 

The polyurethane will leave the wood looking light and natural. If you want a color add a stain. Do not worry about which polyurethane is the best. Once you get up to the commercial level there all great products and it becomes a matter of opinion on behalf of the refinisher.
