Before:

 

This customer wanted the hardwood floor in their living room and dining room refinished. Over the years dirt and debris became embedded in the wood floor and deteriorated the polyurethane. This leaves the wood beneath susceptible to damage and causes discoloration and fading, as seen in the photo.

 

Because the rooms were attached, our Sandless Finish Hardwood Floor Refinishing Specialists would need to employ our "Half and Half" method. Using this process the furniture is moved to one side of the room and the wood floor is refinished. Once the polyurethane has dried, the furniture is moved onto the newly restored area and the rest of the hardwood floor is restored in the same manner!

Apartment - Midtown West, NYC

 

Before:

 

This customer was moving into a new apartment and wanted to have the hardwood floors refinished.

 

Over the years dirt and debris embedded in the floor deteriorated the polyurethane and caused the discoloration and fading seen in the photo. There were also scratches throughout the apartment where the previous tenants had damaged the wood floor.

 

This area of hardwood flooring was a particular problem. Tracking had been removed from the wood floor. The hardwood floor was left in the condition seen in the photo. The customer also wanted a lighter, more natural look to the hardwood floor. Our Sandless Finish Deep Sanding Process utilizes special equipment that minimizes the creation of dust. All layers of damaged wood are removed during the process to reveal the healthy hardwood floor beneath. The wood floor is then sealed and multiple layers of a high quality, commercial grade polyurethane are applied.

Apartment - NoHo, NYC

 

Before:

 

This customer wanted their bedroom repainted. Proper preparation is highly important when painting a room. The floor and furniture must be covered completely to avoid getting paint on them. Mirrors and windows are taped to avoid the same.

Before any paint is applied to the surface holes and cracks must be properly scraped and filled with compound/plaster. If areas such as this are not properly filled, they will reopen again over time.

This photo shows the completed process. In order to assure even sheen and adhesion of the new paint, a high quality, mold resistant primer was first applied to the entire room.

After our painting process the room has a wonderful new color that the customer loves! Our Specialists took care not to get paint onto the mirror, floor or other sensitive surfaces. Another precaution that our Specialists take is to never use tape directly on a hardwood floor when covering a room. The acids in tape can deteriorate the finish and lead to further damage. The scraping and compound/plaster process, if handled correctly, should lead to smooth surfaces like this one. All cracks and holes were completely smoothed over by our Specialists and are no longer visible throughout the room!
