Apartment - NOHO, NYC

This customer was moving into a new apartment and wanted the hardwood floor in the bedroom refinished. The previous tenants had not properly cared for the wood floors. As a result of the misuse of cleaning products and a buildup of dirt and debris, the wood floor's finish had begun to deteriorate. This led to the faded, soiled condition seen in the photo.

This is another example of the wear and tear that can occur on a floor over time. Dirt and grime were embedded in the floor, eating away at the polyurethane and causing the wood to lose its lustrous color. In some areas the color was completely lacking from the hardwood floor. The clients came to Sandless Finish looking to have the floors revitalized and the discolored areas blended to match the rest of the floor.

This customer was moving into an apartment and wanted the hardwood floors in this bedroom refinished. The wood floor had an uneven sheen and scratches throughout it’s surface.

Throughout the bedroom there were damaged areas on the hardwood floor like the one in this photo. This was the result of the previous tenants having the apartment painted without proper protection and dragging heavy objects throughout the room which began to deteriorate the polyurethane.  In some instances we recommend sanding a wood floor. This customer wanted the hardwood floor in this transition area sanded and stained. Although in decent condition, the customer was unhappy with the orange color of the flooring, which heightens over time when a low-quality polyurethane is used (as applied by the previous contractor). In some circumstances our Sandless Finish Hardwood Floor Refinishing Specialists recommend sanding a floor, as was the case for this customer.

Using our Sandless Finish Deep Sanding Method, our Specialists were able to remove all of the previously refinished layers of wood. Once the healthy wood was exposed and a smooth surface was attained our Specialists created a custom stain to achieve a natural grey appearance that the customer loves! Multiple layers of a high quality, commercial grade polyurethane were then applied to the wood floor to assure it will maintain it's new look for many years to come!
